About Us
The Women-Led Humanitarian and Disaster Risk Reduction Platform (WHDRRP) was born out of a shared realization: despite progressive policy frameworks, women’s leadership in disaster risk governance remained largely symbolic. In 2018, a group of women humanitarian professionals came together to challenge this status quo, envisioning a platform that would not only advocate for gender equality but also operationalize feminist leadership in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery.
WHDRRP is more than a network—it is a movement. Rooted in community solidarity and intersectional values, the platform brings together over 170 women professionals across Nepal, spanning sectors such as health, governance, climate resilience, and social justice. It operates as both a coordination hub and a strategic voice, influencing policy, mobilizing resources, and amplifying the lived experiences of women in crisis contexts.
